Unilorin 1st Batch (Merit) Admission List 2017/2018 Released!

Finally! The University of Ilorin, UNILORIN has released admission list for 1st batch.

Candidates who participated in the Unilorin Post UTME Admission Screening are hereby informed that the merit admission list has been released.
Although it is yet to be published on the School website but some of the aspirants have received SMS alert from the school that they have been admitted!

But do not worry, you can still proceed to school portal and check your admission status.

Requirements for all Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes are as follows:

SSCE/JAMB entry requirements for the corresponding National Diploma programmes as published in the current JAMB brochure.
Relevant National Diploma at not below LOWER CREDIT Grade.
At least one year Post-National Diploma relevant industrial experience.
Students for Bilingual programme are to liaise with the Department for preparatory classes in French.

(iii) General Entry Requirement for Professional Diploma (PD) in Urban and Regional Planning (URP):

Applicants for the Professional Diploma must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) at not below LOWER CREDIT classification in Urban and Regional Planning (or related disciplines like Architecture and Estate Management).

Applicants should pay N11,000.00 on-line using ATM card (Master Card, Visa and Verve) by clicking on PAY NOW (Please note that transaction charges is (N500.00). Kindly complete the on-line application form after payment. Click on Submit to conclude the application process.

Applicants without an ATM card should approach any bank for a reloadable card and load the required amount to enable them pay on-line.

Candidates having difficulty in payment for registration should visit the College website click on complaint link or Computer Centre (PTDF) behind the School of Art, Design and Printing, for enquires and possible assistance.


Candidates applying for full time and part time HND must ensure that their transcripts of the ND programme reach the Office of the Registrar, Yaba College of Technology, within six weeks from the date of this publication.

Western Union offers scholarship grants in “Back-to-School” Promo

The Western Union Company, a leader in global payments services, will award grants to fund full  scholarships to six qualifying university students in Nigeria, as part of its “Back-to-School” promotion this year.
The scholarship grants, worth a total of USD $8,450 (N3 million) will be offered in collaboration with the Joseph and Eunice Oladaiye Foundation, a Nigerian NGO. The scholarships will cover tuition costs, books, supplies and meals.

Government Suspends Scholarship Scheme For First Class Graduates

Delta State Government has indefinitely suspended its scholarship scheme for first class graduates in the state. The government said it stopped the program because of  ‘the prevailing economic situation bedeviling the state.

Delta State Scholarship Board announced the suspension in a letter obtained by TheNewsGuru to all beneficiaries of the scheme.

Explaining the reason for the suspension of the program, the board noted that it is aware of the fact that the beneficiaries of the scheme depend on it to fund their education in their various tertiary institutions.

13,500 Applicants Pursue 3,500 Admission Slots in FUTA

A total of 13,500 candidates are taking part in the post-UTME screening for admission into the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), for the 2017/2018 academic session; but only 3,500 will be offered admission.

The exercise started on Thursday October 5 and will end on October 10, 2017. Deputy vice chancellor (Academics) and chairman, University Admissions Committee, Professor Olatunde Arayela, said that 13,500 candidates registered for the exercise but that the Senate of the university had decided that it would admit only 3,500 for the academic session.
